It is a great privilege and honour to serve once again as Chairman of the Anglesey Agricultural Society. For generations, the Anglesey Show has been at the heart of the island's agricultural community, and it continues to provide an opportunity to celebrate our industry, showcase the outstanding quality of our livestock, crafts and local produce, and bring our community together.

Despite the challenges facing the agricultural industry, it is encouraging to see the continued support of our members, sponsors, exhibitors and competitors. The dedication and passion that go into preparing for the show each year are what make the Anglesey Show such a special event, and it is always a pleasure to welcome competitors from across Wales and beyond to compete here on Anglesey.

The Society continues to invest in the future of the showground. Following the investment in our cattle pens in 2025, we have seen significant improvements to the facilities, with exhibitors providing extremely positive feedback. This year we have continued to enhance the site through investment in Wi-Fi, accessibility, showers and toilet facilities in the cattle shed, together with new facilities in the Food Hall. These improvements ensure that the showground continues to develop, not only for the Show itself, but also for the growing number of events held here throughout the year.

The showground has enjoyed another busy year. It was a privilege to host the Urdd National Eisteddfod, which was a tremendous success and provided a wonderful opportunity to welcome thousands of visitors to the island. In addition, we have hosted a wide range of events, including Can i Gymru, the Wales Young Farmers' Rally, the National Flyball Championships, and many more.

It is also wonderful to see Y Cowt continue to grow from strength to strength, with an entertainment programme that appeals to all ages, together with exciting new additions such as the Sensory Tent. Our trade stands continue to expand, with new businesses joining us each year, making the Show a fantastic showcase for local businesses, products and services.

The past year has also brought changes within the Society's office. I would like to sincerely thank Elen, Gwenno, Elin and Hellen for their hard work, dedication and professionalism during an exceptionally busy period. My thanks also go to the volunteers who have generously given their time to support the office over the past year – your assistance has been invaluable.

I would also like to thank Gareth Jones for his work around the showground, John Owen for his continued support, and of course Murphy, who does an outstanding job in ensuring the showground is always well maintained and ready to welcome us throughout the year.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who makes the Anglesey Show possible, our volunteers, officials, stewards, judges, sponsors, members, exhibitors and competitors. Without your continued support and commitment, this Show simply would not be possible.

On behalf of the Anglesey Agricultural Society, I extend a very warm welcome to you all. We hope you enjoy two fantastic days at the 2026 Anglesey Show, and we look forward to welcoming you to the showground.
